Volunteer Position Description: Computer Technical Assistant

Link to Mission:    The David Suzuki Foundation is seeking IT support for our busy Vancouver office. We are looking for a knowledgeable and friendly volunteer to assist with computer configuration and installations.


Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Work with IT Manager to provide IT support to Foundation staff
  • Assist with computer configurations and installations

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Expert knowledge of Windows operating environment
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
  • Professional, friendly demeanor and strong communication skills
  • Good judgment and discretion when dealing with confidential/sensitive matters
  • Knowledge of MS Office and other applications an asset
  • Knowledge of hardware components an asset

Reports to: Calvin Jang, IT Manager


Time Required:        3-4 hours per week (starting in September)
            Flexible hours (8:30-noon, M-Th)
            3-month commitment required


Orientation and Training Provided:

All volunteers receive an orientation to the Foundation.
Training provided on-the-job.
