Confessions of a lusty environmentalist

KissesWith Valentine’s Day just around the corner, you might be wondering what you can do to win the affections of your crush. Well, there is nothing sexier than showing your passion for the environment! Follow these tips, and you’ll be thanking us on February 15th:

* Impress your hunka hunka burnin’ love with a gift of local, organic flowers. There’s nothing attractive about pesticides.

* How about a vegetarian lunch date? It takes more land and water to grow meat than any other kind of food.

* Organic chocolate is guaranteed to stir the heart and taste buds of your beloved. Check out your local organic retailer, or visit a quality chocolate shop. If you don’t see any products labeled organic, ask.

Rose* If you prefer the old fashioned approach to courting - knocking back several glasses of wine on an empty stomach - there are lots of great organic wines on the market. And if they’re locally produced, all the better. You’ll be reducing pesticide use and not contributing to the greenhouse gases that come from shipping stuff across vast distances.

* If you’re purchasing body care products, make sure they’re made from natural ingredients and don’t contain chemicals you want to avoid.

Post your eco-Valentine’s Day ideas on our Facebook and MySpace pages.
