Remember to send in your ‘To Do’ checklist to win a copy of ‘The Sacred Balance’ by David Suzuki. Speaking of which, here’s this month’s list of green living ideas...April Checklist
  • Organize a Green Cleaning Bee - Could Snow White or Giselle get all that housework done without help? Get your friends (whatever species) together to whip up batches of safe cleaning products from these recipes (and more to come!). Make extra for friends or family. Don’t forget to whistle while you work.
  • Watch an eco-movie with friends and keep the conversation on green living going - Just released: Garbage Warrior about US architect Michael Reynolds who, among other things, uses beer cans, car tires and water bottles for producing energy-independent housing. Other good ones: Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth and Leo DiCaprio’s The 11th Hour.
  • Know David Suzuki is in the house - Ontarians, Alberta (and those who have cable) get to see these great Powerwise ads on their TVs. The rest of us can watch on our computer monitors and send them to our friends. (Rumor has it that other provinces will be joining the ad campaign soon...) We also have some cool audio Public Service Announcements here for anyone inclined to broadcast (over your office PA?)
  • Win some green - for your wallet or someone else (individual or a group) you think is worthy of Earth Day’s 2008 Hometown Heroes Award. The winner gets $10,000 – half to keep and half to donate to an enviro-cause of their choice. Nominations close April 22.
