Take David Suzuki’s Vacation Challenge.  Give the earth a break while you’re taking yours. Go here for our ideas. Go here to share yours.
Pack your green kit. Wherever your wander this summer, green your journey by taking along a stainless steel commuter mug (for hot drinks), water bottle (or empty glass container) and reusable food container, a cloth napkin, cloth shopping bag and a ‘spork’ (a spoon and fork in one, also called a ‘fpoon’). Keep a version of the kit in the car, on the boat, in your backpack – each item helps rid the world of disposables!
Help save Canada’s pristine waterways from toxic mine tailings. Two pristine lakes (Tail Lake in Nunavut and Scully-Wabush Lake in Newfoundland) have already been approved as mining waste dumps and the federal government is reviewing applications to approve 14 more! Act now. Here’s how.
Enter David Suzuki Digs My Garden. Ever fantasized about getting a personal thank-you from David Suzuki for your dedication to the environment? You could, if your garden wins the contest!  (Celebrity judges include musician Jack Johnson, gardener Marjorie Harris and  Canadian national freestyle skier Warren Tanner.) But you must enter by September 1st. Other prizes include: organic groceries delivered to your door by spud, heritage seeds from Salt Spring SeedsT-shirts, gardening books, DVDs and more!
Leave your shoes at the door to avoid tracking poisons into your home, especially if you live somewhere where toxic pesticides are sprayed – ie most parks, school yards and boulevards (or if you’ve been golfing…).

Here's this month's list for your fridge.
