Caption the Gnome Photo
So you want to add a caption to the gnome photo, eh? To start with, here is the photo in question:
![]() Click here for a bigger version you can save and work on yourself. Here's a website that can help you add speech or thought bubbles to the photo: http://bighugelabs.com/flickr/captioner.php And here's how to do it: 1. Once you're on the Captioner Page; beside Choose a Photo, Click on the tab that says URL - it looks like this: ![]() 2. Copy this URL: http://www.davidsuzuki.org/files/NC/GardenContest/gnomecaption_lg.jpg 3. Paste the URL into the box under Enter the URL of the image you want to use. 4. Follow the instructions on the site to add your speech balloons or thought bubbles. You can add up to four bubbles (although you might crowd out the Gnome if you do...) 5. Select a stamp group if you want to use them (they will be optional on the next page.) 6. Click on the CREATE button. This will take you to the a new page with the photo and your caption(s) on it. You can click on the caption(s) to drag it around and place it on the photo wherever you like. This is also where you can add stamps, if you want to. 7. Click on the FINISH button at the bottom of the page, and your captioned image will appear! 8. Under the image you will see various options to Edit, if you don't like how it turned out, or Start over entirely. If you're happy with the image, you can save it to your hard drive and then email it to naturechallenge@davidsuzuki.org; or click on the Email selection and enter naturechallenge@davidsuzuki.org as the recipient (don't forget to include your name and email address in case you win!) Happy Captioning!! Close this page to return to the Newsletter.
