Cars should be getting better, but they are actually getting worse. Did you know a 1912 Model T Ford with 35 miles per gallon was more fuel efficient than all but one of Ford’s 2003 models?

North American automobile manufacturers should be doing a better job of making cars, mini-vans and SUVs that are more fuel-efficient. In fact, North American manufacturers are lagging behind their counterparts. European and Japanese auto makers have already promised to increase the fuel efficiency of their vehicles by 25 per cent. We should join them.

Manufacturers respond to their customers and the efforts of concerned consumers. By participating in the e-mail action below, you can ask Canadian automobile manufacturers to commit to the same fuel efficiency targets as European and Japanese auto makers.
