 Each year the non-profit American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEE) rates all commercially available passenger vehicles according to tailpipe pollution and fuel economy. The rankings also take into account pollution from auto factories and fuel refineries. Below are the best vehicles for model year 2004.

Green Score calculated by the AEEE, this ranking is on a scale from 0 to 100. This year’s top vehicles scored a 57, the average was 27 and the worst gas-guzzlers scored around 10. Further information can be found on the GreenerCars.com.
