Designing the future

From Extreme Home Makeovers to MTV's Cribs, home decorating shows are all the rage. Who doesn’t enjoy peeking into someone’s nest — it doesn’t matter if it’s a celebrity’s mansion, a neighbor’s condo, or a bachelor’s lair. Our sanctuaries are an expression of who we are. Fortunately, improvements in home design mean we can live comfortably and sustainably.

By applying our knowledge about nature to design, we can create homes, and other products, that mimic natural sustainable systems. And don’t worry - living sustainably doesn’t mean you have to live in a cave and do without. Really!

Environmentally friendly design is an important new trend among architects and designers who create our homes. After all, the way we design and decorate our homes affects the energy and water we use, as well as the pollution we create.

This newsletter looks at the home of the future. Who knows? You may get some ideas for your next home reno project!
