The BC coast needs a marine use and conservation plan that will protect the abundance and diversity of life in our oceans. There is currently a federal government proposal to establish a comprehensive planning process in the Pacific North and Central Coast Regions of BC, also known as PNCIMA (pronounced pin-SEE-mah). To be effective, the PNCIMA process needs all governments to be involved, but the provincial government is not involved to the level needed and they are not investing money or government workers’ time to help make this happen.
The provincial government is asking British Columbians what they want from government. Please send a letter to Premier Gordon Campbell and tell him that you want to improve the management and protection of our oceans in PNCIMA. Please see the suggested letter below and send your message to Premier Campbell today! Thanks in advance for being a champion for our oceans.
