A National Sustainable Development Strategy for Canada

Putting Canada on the Path to Sustainability Within a Generation

Canada's National Sustainability Act, which became law in 2008, was based on the recommendations found in this 32-page report.

Designed to fulfill Canada's international obligation to develop a comprehensive environment plan and turn the nation into a world leader in sustainability and environmental protection, the adoption of National Sustainability Act is cause for celebration for both the David Suzuki Foundation and the environment. Implementation of the Act will determine whether it lives up to its promise.
