Here are just a few of the newsletter's useful suggestions:

* Replace chemical pesticides at home with non-toxic alternatives: Kids are especially susceptible to the dangers of chemical pesticides because of their small size.

* Plant native: Organic pesticide-free gardening works by planting grasses, flowers and shrubs native to your region.

* Stop cosmetic pesticides in your city: Concern over health effects has led over 60 communities — including some of Canada’s largest cities - to ban cosmetic pesticides.

David Suzuki is inviting all Canadians to take the Nature Challenge by reading the 10 best ways individuals can protect nature and signing up online at www.davidsuzuki.org. Over 100,000 people have taken the Nature Challenge since its launch in 2002 and the number grows each day.
