Reporting to the Director of Development, the Development Officer (DO) is based in our Vancouver office and works as a member of the Development Major Gifts team to help raise private sector funds from donors and prospects with a giving history and/or capacity of $100,000 and up. This portfolio includes proactive fundraising support of the $60M Legacy Campaign, with a focus on endowment, in collaboration and coordination with other Development programs and initiatives, and providing 75% time direct support to the Legacy Campaign Director (LCD), and 25% time to the Director of Development (DOD), in their efforts to develop and grow the major gift activities. You will have an assigned portfolio of prospective donor and donor relation’s activities, and will develop financial goals, plans and timelines based on analysis and research and will share responsibility for Campaign case statement development, database and records maintenance, and proposal and stewardship report preparation in support of the Campaign, as well as for direct responsibility constituencies and projects. Supporting fundraising includes monitoring the portfolio budget and ensuring database accuracy. Qualifications: You have completed a university degree and have three to five years major gift fundraising experience in the not-for-profit environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Primary skills include: sound knowledge of fundraising, donor cycle strategies and market; proven ability to analyze, plan, initiate and complete projects in a timely basis; creativity; exceptional written and oral communications skills; computer skills on MS Office word processing and spreadsheets; Explorer, and Raiser’s Edge 7.
