little leafPutting Kyoto to work

For the next two weeks, the world will be watching as Montreal hosts the - take a deep breath - United Nations Conference of the Parties to the Climate Change Convention. (The truly hardcore shorten the name to COP 11, short for the 11th session of the Conference of the Parties.)

It's the Woodstock of climate change. Nearly 10,000 climate scientists, government officials, journalists and activists from around the world are expected to attend the conference from November 28 to December 9.

This summit marks the first meeting of the 156 countries that have adopted the Kyoto Protocol. It’s also the first time the conference will be held in North America.

This climate change event is extremely important for Canada. With company coming over, it’s time for us to get our house in order. Some of the international agreements that emerge from COP 11 may change your life in the future. Find out how.
