Suzuki, Kyle and I awoke under the cover of Toronto darkness and caught a ride to the Report on Business studios for a CTV Newsnet interview.
Just yesterday, the House of Commons passed Bill C-288 that calls for the Tories to table a plan to meet Kyoto's greenhouse-gas targets within 60 days. While widely seen as a victory among environment groups, Suzuki is bemused by it all - "Why do we need this internal Act when we're internationally obligated to meet the targets set by the Kyoto Protocol?" He's got a point.
The Doc joined Toronto Environmental Alliance's Katrina Miller to encourage Toronto Mayor David Miller to adopt a bylaw requiring local industries to disclose their use and release of key pollutants. The law could very well reduce pollution in Canada's largest city. Suzuki described the bylaw as a "no brainer."

A by-law requiring disclosure of pollutants?!
A no-brainer indeed.
Especially for those of us living in the vicinity of industrial parks...
