Canada gets richer, dirtier and sicker.

Statistics Canada has a new report on the nation's environmental health. It's dismaying. It shows that as the country has grown and gotten wealthier, it's also gotten a lot more polluted. A lot of our supposedly fresh water can't support aquatic life, and it's getting tougher to breathe, especially in southern Ontario. The Toronto Star says we're all to blame. Of course, that means we share the responsibility for where things stand, and that as the folks around here like to say, he can all contribute to the solution, to reversing those trends and making the country cleaner and better.
