Director, Sustainability ProgramAs a key member of the Foundation’s management team, you will report directly to the CEO in our Vancouver office. You will lead a passionate team of policy analysts and outreach coordinators based in Vancouver and Ottawa. As an inspiring leader, you will get the opportunity to develop, implement and administer the SWAG strategic plan and develop program areas; communicate your work to internal and external audiences; provide leadership and manage staff; and build relationships with individuals, industry, businesses, and governments. By leading projects from conception to fruition, you will play an integral role in shaping the program to fulfil its mission of protecting the health and environment of future generations.
In addition, you will develop and implement strategic communication plans with our dynamic Communications team and act as the program’s media spokesperson when required. You will also be a creative participant in the development of fundraising plans, including proposal development, program reports, and updates for external funders. With a solid understanding of human resources practices, you will support, coach and evaluate program staff through recognition, motivation and supporting employees in their individual career development.
Qualifications You have a Master’s Degree plus a minimum of 10 years experience managing national campaigns or programs, with a minimum of 5 years of staff supervision; or, significant related education and experience. Solid knowledge of environmental issues within the scope of SWAG; current knowledge of political landscape at the provincial and federal levels and overall knowledge of the environmental community in Canada is essential. You are a well developed creative and strategic thinker, with a positive respectful style complemented by excellent communication skills.
