I would develop regulations and other programs to ensure we have clean air and water for our future generations.
JENNIFER, YELLOWKNIFE, NORTHWEST TERRITORIES
I would ensure that I left a legacy of green space, clean air, clean water, and a long list of animals living in their habitat without fear of extinction for future generations!
MICHELE, PROCTER, BRITISH COLUMBIA
Our escalating crisis in health care is directly related to lack of clean air, soil, water, and domestic and working habitats of Canadians.
LYNN, WINNIPEG, MANITOBA
I would know that without clean air and clean water no one can survive. It doesn’t matter what your political colours are!

I would remember that money and power is of little use to my grandchildren when they have no clean air to breathe, no clean water to drink, and little hope for humanity’s future!
KATIE, PICTOU COUNTY, NOVA SCOTIA
I would make the environment my first priority.I constantly hear people talking about health and health care. I am a healthcare professional and I know we can only keep ourselves healthy if and only if we have clean air to breathe, clean water to drink, and food to eat.
RON, TORONTO, ONTARIO
I would stop catering to big corporations who pollute and exploit our natural resources, and use the power bestowed upon me by the electorate to enhance and restore our environment to a level whereby all Canadians could be assured of clean air, soil and water, where animals could enjoy their natural habitats, and where future generations can live on Canadian soil as it was meant to be – natural and beautiful.
GAYLE, SHERBROOKE, QUÉBEC
The environment would be the very most important item on my agenda each and every day. Without clean air to breathe, clean water to drink and wash with, places to enjoy our beautiful nature, and space to move around in there is no point in worrying about anything else!
EMILIE, ELNORA, ALBERTA
What good is the economy if our environment won’t support it in the end? Making sure we have clean air and water in the future is priceless. It should never be put on the back burner, no matter how complicated the politics get !
WINNIE, BEAUMONT, ALBERTA
I would look after health by prevention. The way to do that is by cleaning up the environment. Without clean air, water, and food we will all be sick.
M., MONTRÉAL, QUÉBEC
I would take the environment seriously. There needs to be a realization and recognition that a strong economy depends on a healthy environment. A healthy environment depends upon sustainable, responsible practices brought forward through awareness and policies. Without clean air, water, and soil, how strong is your economy going to be? Environment is the number one issue!
ROBIN, ALGONQUIN PARK, ONTARIO
We cannot survive without water just as sure as we cannot survive without clean air.
C.S., DAUPHIN, MANITOBA
I’d amend the constitution and charter of rights and freedoms to ensure our rights to clean air, water, and land. This amendment to be supported by a free and open system for citizens to assert these rights and seek redress.
DEBORA, PENTICTON, BRITISH COLUMBIA
I would take advantage of all the resources and technologies that exist to reform the way this country does things so that it results in clean air and water, renewable sources of energy, and protected green space and natural habitat.
NADIA, OTTAWA, ONTARIO
I would do everything within my power to ensure there will be clean air and water, healthy food, and abundant natural wilderness for my great-great-great grandchildren. I’d consider it a fundamental requirement of our government to take the very long term future into consideration on every decision.
MICHAEL, VAUGHAN, ONTARIO
Wealth is not how much money we can make and spend, but whether or not our water is clean and our food is safe to eat. I want clean air, clean water, forests, wildlife, and abundant nature for my children.
LISA, AMHERST, NOVA SCOTIA
I would care about all Canadians including those not yet born because they have as much right to clean air and water and a sustainable environment and economy as we do.
DIEP, KITCHENER, ONTARIO
I would re-create the clean air act, one that is actually effective and places tougher laws on industrial polluters.
NATHAN, ST. JOHN’S, NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR
I would be more concerned with ensuring that my grandchildren and their grandchildren have clean water, air, and food. I would immediately protect our water and encourage our farmers to produce for local consumption. Air quality would become an issue of utmost importance because I have lived in Taiwan and know what it feels like to breath air that is so thick with contaminates that it makes you want to gag.
AMANDA, VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA
