VANCOUVER - Finally! A real rock star experience! The Stanley Theatre is packed to the rafters with the wildest crowd I've seen yet, on their feet cheering and hooting for the Doc when suddenly, a fusillade of unidentified flying frilly objects lands on stage and there's a Canadian icon, picking up a pair of red panties and a blue thong with a look of what he describes as "a mixture of shock and delight." The audience howled. Silly grin on his face, David sez: "My wife's in the audience, y'know..."
Eat yer heart out, Tom Jones. Now, I want to assure everyone that this instance of intimate apparel propelled upon the proscenium was NOT a panty prank played by a punchy tour team giddy at the prospect of just two more stops remaining. It was obviously a spontaneous display and there are unconfirmed reports of hotel room key-cards landing on stage. Nor was the Doc in the least trouble by the incident - at last report, he did not have his knickers in a twist (although he is now wondering if in addition to his Order of Canada he can now say he's been given the Order of the Garter). Anyway, it was a great end to a fabulous evening. These people were on such a high that they even laughed at my jokes. When Raffi got up on stage, they clapped and sang along to "Cool It!" the tour anthem. So, stop 40 is wrapped (or unwrapped, depending on how you look at it). On to Victoria, where the secret of the unexpected undies will be safe! --Don Hauka, Communications guru

I was at the Kelowna BCSEA venue and couldn't help screaming, clapping, standing, and referring to Dr. David Suzuki's assistants as roadies!! I also felt like it was one of those star studded apearances that makes your heart sing!
I actually got to shake his hand and hug a roadie (thanks Lindsay!)to pass along, with a couple of my poems. One was inspired by him called The Nature of Man.
Go Suzuki and team! Go Gore!

I also had a star experience with Dr. David Suzuki at the BCSEA venue! I cheered, stood, clapped, tried to give my two cents at the mike, then was speechless when I got to steal a handshake from the great man! I hope he enjoyed my poem 'the Nature of Man'.
Go Suzuki and team!
