Economic ecology, ecological economy.
The Greek word "oikos," (household or dwelling) is at the root of the words "economy" and "ecology." A couple of reporters at the International Herald Tribune are watching both realms, where and how they intersect and affect one another.
It's a relatively new blog called The Business Of Green on the newspaper's website, written by Elisabeth Rosenthal and James Kanter. It's been going since March 23, but its existence is another indication that environmental concerns are increasingly questions that cut across ideological, vocational and every other kind of line.
There are a number of posts here on stories that haven't been widely covered elsewhere, including a solar-powered recording studio.

Derek McElmon
Greetings,
As a 46 year old who has been concerned about the environment all of my brief life, I; have never driven a car (bus and walk everywhere) always turn anything requiring energy -off when not in use, eat locally grown foods from the farmers markets, recycle and specifically live in an apartment as opposed to a house - here in Dartmouth, NS.
I have a new expression as a result of the lazy, irresposible attitudes that surround me; IF YOU DON'T DISAPPOINT ME, YOU OFFEND ME, IF YOU DON'T OFFEND ME, YOU ANNOY ME. This applies to those I can't respect.
I'm very proud to know Mr Suzuki is Canadian.
Thanks David

A number of people, unlike yourself, were not raised to be concerned about the environment. The best way to deal with your disappointments, is to educate, influence and pray which is what Mr Suzuki does I'm sure
