The average Canadian spends more than 90 per cent of their time indoors, and more than six hours a day in front of screens. We have become increasingly urban and virtually disconnected from the natural world. Symptoms of our nature deficit are easy to spot; stress, obesity, heart disease, asthma, depression.

The good news is that we already have an easy prescription for healthier lives and communities. We simply need to increase our dosage of nature. As this infographic illustrates, nature is the best medicine. Studies show that exposure is good for your health and your head. It even makes you happier and nicer.

So check out the infographic — and share it as widely as you can. For every time it is shared through Facebook, the nice folks at will donate $1 to the David Suzuki Foundation.

Nice work, well done, Good thing about being so low is that it is easy to make small improvements. Really the key here is to Impassion the people. They have very little else of meaningful value to be passionate about.

To really make progress we need to free the media from the Corps. If we can not do that, then we need to create something louder and better.

This is a good start

Stay Positive, use your anger, but do not come from it.

i find it increasingly upsetting to go for a walk in nature these days. invariably there will be garbage strewn about somewhere (more often than not, a tim horton's cup…how patriotic) or the sound of machines (cars, trucks, planes) that are spewing out fossil fuels poisoning our air and water. it's omnipresent, no matter how far out of the city you go.

i can't enjoy a walk without thoughts of how wild nature in this country, and the rest of the world, is being systematically destroyed by the oil and gas industry, agribusiness, and our ever increasing population building more and more houses, consuming more and more things, creating more and more waste, so that fewer and fewer other creatures we share the planet with have a habitat left to call home.

The irony of going to your doctor is that you stop listening to your body. Observe the way you live every day and take note of that.

When I read an article similar to this, it usually comes as very obvious to me. Not because I read about it before, but simply because I listen to my body when it speaks to me.

Losing touch with nature has a deep impact on the human body. I know so because I used to be an outgoing kid until all my friends decided television was their best friend. It's like my life was dramatically changed overnight.
