It's back-to-school time. Time to trade picnics and playgrounds for inside shoes and inside voices.
But does it have to be?
This year, we at the David Suzuki Foundation are keeping our outside shoes on. And we want you and your family to join us.

The average North American child spends as few as 30 minutes playing outside each day, and more than seven hours in front of a screen. And yet, all the research tells us that time outside makes children healthier, happier and smarter.
That's why this year, we're staying outside for the Fall Family Challenge. We'll be exploring nature in our backyards and beyond, learning about how we're connected to the environment and how our actions affect it.
Want to join us? Ready the children in your life and sign up for our Fall Family Challenge at getbackoutside.ca.
Each week for four weeks starting September 16, we'll send you a fun outdoor activity complete with step-by-step instructions. Throughout the weeks, stay connected with us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, where we'll share the stories you tell us and photos you send, plus tips and more activities.
Sign up now, and join a growing community of Canadians determined to keep their outside shoes on!
