Hey Toronto, it's FINALLY spring—time to get growing! Help create a continuous corridor of green throughout the city.

By entering our Get Growing Garden Contest you'll not only reap the benefits of your own yard or balcony plantings, you'll help create a continuous corridor of green throughout Toronto that supports local species and healthy communities.

AND if your garden is within the Homegrown National Park boundaries, you could win prizes!

There are lots of ways to get involved:

✓ Create habitat for local pollinators by adding native plants to your existing garden
✓ Grow your own veggies and flowers
✓ Plant a tree
✓ Donate your yard for someone else to cultivate
✓ Offer your fruit trees for picking
✓ Learn how to keep bees
✓ Plant seeds or plants in abandoned spaces

Whether you're tending a few containers on your balcony or running a small urban farm, are a seasoned green thumb or rookie, submit your growing creation for a chance to win great prizes, in the following categories:

• Best "before and after"
• Best use of space
• Best native plant garden
• Best edible garden

Register online before June 30, 2014 and include a short description of your gardening plan and a "start of the season" photo. We're looking for innovative gardens and green spaces—we really want to see the difference you can make in abandoned or unusual spaces, like rooftops, alleyways, concrete dividers and more.

Gardeners who sign up before May 30, 2014 will be entered to win early bird prizes. Once you've registered, stay in touch over the season by sharing photos of your growing garden on Instagram, using the hashtags #getgrowing and #homegrownnationalpark, or connecting with us on Facebook and Twitter.

Show how your garden is helping transform Toronto's neighbourhoods into vibrant green spaces!
