Avoiding Blackouts in Ontario
A new report from the David Suzuki Foundation shows that energy conservation and efficiency are the cheapest, fastest ways to solve Ontario’s electricity crisis and prevent future blackouts.
Bright Future describes how Ontario can reduce its total demand for power by 20 per cent between now and 2010.
The report also examines the lessons learned by California, which put conservation and efficiency measures in place when it faced rolling blackouts and rising prices in 2000.
