On October 24, 2012, the townspeople of Bella Coola demonstrated peacefully against the proposed Northern Gateway Pipeline being built through their fragile living space.
Part of the David Suzuki Foundation's Best Pacific Ocean Stories, the Bella Coola Project was created from a collection of imagery gathered by Sarah Gowan.
Contributors of imagery to the film included Michael Wigle, Eric Berger, Angelica and Just For Kids.
