WHO: Twenty-two major organizations, including the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, and the Lung Association of B.C. are releasing a statement supporting a province-wide ban on non-essential pesticides.

WHAT: The 22 organizations are urging B.C. to pass legislation that prohibits the use and sale of chemical pesticides for lawns, gardens, and non-agricultural landscaping. Recent polling shows more than 70% of British Columbians support provincial legislation to restrict pesticide use. Such legislation already exists in the Maritime provinces, Quebec, and Ontario.

The pesticide statement can be found on our website. (PDF)
