Take David Suzuki with You

Protecting nature has no boundaries. If you are already making a difference by doing David Suzuki’s Nature Challenge actions at home - good for you! Why not look for ways to lighten your footprint in other aspects of your life? Here are some life-greening suggestions for work, school, and one program especially for kids:

David Suzuki’s Nature Challenge at Work

David Suzuki's Nature Challenge at WorkMany of us spend more time at the work place than we do at home. In 2005, at least a quarter of Canadians were routinely putting in ten hours a day on the job! So it makes sense that we take our environmental awareness along with us when we walk out our front door each day.

Here’s a fun and easy program that can be adapted to any work environment by anyone who wants to show some leadership, inspire co-workers and customers, and help make the planet a healthier place. We all want to be a part of organizations with sustainable practices. There’s so much each of us can do to make a difference. After you’ve brought David Suzuki to work, don’t forget to your stories. Whether your organization has held a staff picnic using local ingredients, started double-siding all photocopies, or subsidizing transit passes - we want to hear about it! David Suzuki's Nature Challenge is all about working together for positive change. We’ll post the best stories on our web site.

David Suzuki’s Nature Challenge at School

Wouldn’t it be great to have David Suzuki teach one of your classes? Well, here’s the next best thing: "David Suzuki’s Nature Challenge Teacher's Guide". It’s a curriculum resource for grades 4-7 packed with 20 unique lesson plans that will engage students, promote understanding and encourage informed choices about environmental conservation.

The guide was developed in accordance with British Columbia curriculum standards, and has operated as a successful pilot project since 2006. We are currently working to expand the program to meet curricula specifications for the rest of Canada. Until we have a guide online tailored to where you are, feel free to adapt the BC version to the needs of your particular class.
