Fisherman Steve Johansen gives his perspective on the importance of protecting our oceans.

Growing up on Hornby Island made the ocean a part of Steve Johansen's life right from the start. After seeing the recent news on the Gulf oil spill disaster, Steve urges the Canadian government to prevent the same tragedy from happening off our coasts. With better planning and regulations in place, the government can help to protect the ocean areas we love. Steve explains how sensitive marine areas have to be no-go zones for shipping, oil and gas exploration and fish farming, because it's just not worth the risk.
