Ambassadors are available to help your office go green and develop sustainable work practices in the Toronto and Vancouver areas.
Employee engagement is the key to successfully implementing your organizational sustainability goals — and David Suzuki Ambassadors are here to help! Our Ambassadors are equipped with all the resources and training needed to deliver relevant, fun, and interactive workshops to workplaces interested in greening their practices.
A David Suzuki Ambassador will support your staff in using the David Suzuki at Work toolkit effectively. In the workshop, participants will:
- Discuss the benefits of going green at work
- Brainstorm how their workplace can reduce energy consumption, trim waste and travel smarter
- Discover how to make more sustainable choices regarding food and water
- Set goals and design activities to engage staff in sustainability initiatives
The workshop is approximately two hours in length and your staff will be doing most of the talking. Following an Ambassador workshop, the David Suzuki Foundation will track the success of your workplace and provide ongoing support. As a part of our follow-up communication, we will encourage workplaces to send us their success stories. The Foundation would love to share your story on our website.

How can I request a workshop?
To request a workshop, please submit a request form, or see the contact information at the bottom of this page.
All you have to do is determine when your workplace would like to hold a workshop and fill out the form. Please provide two to three weeks' notice when requesting a workshop. Workshops are approximately two hours long.
So, gather your colleagues together, and we will take it from there!
Where is the Ambassador program offered?
Currently, this program is available to workplaces in the Greater Vancouver area and Toronto. We hope to offer the program in other Canadian cities in the future. Check our website for regular updates on the program.
What will I need to host a workshop?
Once you've confirmed a date, all you'll need to provide is:
- A computer and laptop
- A flipchart and markers
- Printed copies of the David Suzuki at Work toolkit — we suggest one or two copies (double-sided, of course!)
- A space for your group to gather
How much does the workshop cost?
Since its inception, the David Suzuki Foundation has attracted the support of thousands of people across Canada. As a registered charity, the David Suzuki Foundation relies solely on donations for all of its work. In order to avoid any conflict of interest, we do not accept direct government funding. This is what makes the support of donors so important. As a donor, you're playing an important role in making Canada more sustainable, a process that will improve the quality of life for all Canadians — now and into the future.
David Suzuki Ambassadors are trained representatives of the Foundation who have generously volunteered their time to help workplaces go green. While there is no fee for a David Suzuki at Work workshop, we request a donation for an Ambassador visit.
